Affinity - Imagined by designers, created for professionals

Affinity Designer for Windows is here!

It’s been the most asked question on our Facebook page and Twitter feed ever since we launched Affinity 18 months ago… when is Affinity coming to Windows?

Well, we’re excited to say that as of today you can download the free public beta of Affinity Designer for your PC!

After registering, you’ll receive a link which allows you to download the beta program onto your PC (you’ll need to be running 64 bit Windows 7 and above).

Here’s a short video showing the capabilities of Affinity Designer for Windows…

It’s important to remember the Windows beta version is far from the finished article and at this stage it might not work perfectly. So at the same time, we’ll send you more information about how you can help us fine-tune the program further during the beta period – a crucial part of the process.

Of course we understand that being part of a beta trial isn’t for everyone, and some people would rather wait for the finished product to go on sale. But we really hope that you’ll choose to sign up to be part of the trial.

And make sure you follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay right up to date with our latest news.

Why not a Linux Version that would be awesome.

Dennis -

I fully agree with Martin, but I guess it's simply too much work and too few customers willing to pay for this platform (for me, I would be god-send, I'm looking for a way to escape Adobe AND Microsoft/Apple and do photo editing on Linux). I would pay for it ;)

People desperately want to go away from Microsoft and Adobe. The sentiment is everywhere. Especially in Design circles. Apple abandoned the VFX and 3D market, Microsoft is becoming too intrusive. Linux has no true Adobe Alternatives. Fighting Adobe on Linux is a battle you can win.

Yet another vote for linux! Pretty please - I'd even pay double price just give it to us! :)

Just tried the Windows beta and I must say - you've done amazing job ! This is the first REAL replacement of the discontinued Adobe Fireworks ! But since I believe most of your target group will be exactly former Fireworks users, I would recoomend you to add a very important feature fot that matter - native open/save of PNG files. By native I mean - keeping the files fully editable, not converting everything to bitmaps. Since your product has most if not all the Fireworks features, I believe such option is possible.

Magnificent beat ! I wish to apprentice while you amend ykur site, how can i suscribe foor a blog site? The account helped me a acceptable deal. I had been tiny bit acquainted of this your broadcast provided bright clear idea

Ive seen your demo and especially the one clip from the logo design with the text symbolise was really impressive. i tried looking through the software but couldnt figure out how you can move more elements but keeping them constraint in one point. could you maybe do a tutorial on the move capabilities. that would be awesome. thx

Downloaded, tried. Hope this will replace Adobe Fireworks. Some of the features and editing flexibility needed to be polished, e.g. point selection editing to be easier without clicking on corner editing. Keyboard Shortcuts for transforms, skew, distort, and etc. But this is definitely a visible future for designers on Windows Platform.

Please consider Linux version - will buy for sure.

Adding some DTP features would be excellent. This could become the perfect all-in-one package. Multiple page | showing bleeds | document stitching | better control over cropping and text wrap | a number of other tweaks, similar to InDesign or Pageplus

Linux version and I'll buy immediatelly.

Magnifico programma. Adobe Illustrator: vecchio e complicato per fare cose semplici. Xara designer: Pen tool orribile. CorelDraw (come Illustrator). Affinity può diventare il numero 1 al mondo per eleganza, semplicità e potenza. Complimenti Serif!

Turief -

Great software. I will buy it in Windows or Linux (Which I prefer).

Very excited to see Affinity is on it's way to Windows, but I would be even more excited to see Affinity hit android/Chrome OS. Chrome OS is the fastest growing OS in the world today, Windows is shrinking in market share. Obviously windows is still the largest but the kids of today are getting Chrome OS at school and this is what they'll learn to be used to. I think many people would love to switch to a Chrome OS machine if there was just a few extra programs of Affinity standard available. With the ability to now install Android apps in Chrome OS, competition will start to increase in the OS market!

With that noted, there will be times when it the employer may not actually be fully aware of what they wish to achieve, how they wish to achieve it, or what the potential limitations to their intended proposal maybe. But to truly join the ranks of the professional coder, several elements need to be put in place. The software outsourcing firm adopts various methodologies to perform a particular task.

Good info. Lucky me I came across your site by chance (stumbleupon). I've saved as a favorite for later!

Great job on windows beta version! I'm trying it and let me say that it is very polished and usable. Is it scheduled a windows version of Affinity photo and Affinity publisher? Can't wait for them! :)

Peter Goddard -

Beta was great. Any idea when you will be releasing Ver 1, also a price point would be nice

Hi I've been using the beta version on my laptop having bought the Mac version for my desktop I love it! BUT... i'm halfway through a project and it's expired!! I'm desperate to finish the project, I can't even transfer it to the Mac. What on earth can I do? Thanks Matt ( slightly frustrated! )

Hi, Is the windows version for sale? Cheers Stella

ChromeOS and Linux, love the Windows support too. Coming from Flash world, moved to React/Redux and all the new bandwagon, design abilities and requirements decreased, it is like we are back in the time of DHTML. Used to do a lot of Flash/Flex, skinning, smart-ui, components architecture. Worked with design studios, Fireworks was "THE Tool" of the non-designer too. No need no freaking Photoshop that has no object abstraction, it is destructive, it is history based, it is lucrative. Programmers hate that. An editor that is more like a Scene Graph, that's the thing! I love that Affinity it is not just a replica, I like that it strives and tries to be sound. Never say never to a "Cloud" version, but one in the sense that it works in the browser, to solve us help the problem of working on multiple workstations(home pc & travel mac, work workstation, at least 2-3), would pay subscription to that in a blink, but one that is decent, not at the price of my entire house-expenses. Waiting for first release candidate, throw it out guys, bugs or no bugs!

Congratulation. I hope the porting is faster than you think! i waiting and test. i (strange thinks) return to windows after 8 years in mac and i think al lot of people make this choice for the hightest price of the new macbook

Manuel Domingos Vilaça Monteiro -

Quero me iniciar no mundo do design gráfico e vejo uma grande oportunidade neste programa através de sua versão beta. Obrigado

Cool blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your theme. Thanks a lot

Leigh -

@top kadir: It's a custom theme that our web team made :)

I'd fully support a Linux version, but I don't think that a ChromeOS device has enough umph for intensive graphic design work. I would love to ditch both Apple and Microsoft, but Linux doesn't offer a true rival to Adobe (who's software is less than intuitive), Affinity would be awesome if it came to Linux. I used Macromedia Fireworks (before Adobe defiled it) and it was good, but I'd say that having used Affinity on macOS for the past two years, it's infinitely superior to Macromedia Fireworks. I love it. When does this get released on Windows?

Leigh -

@Lewis: Affinity Designer and Photo are available for Windows from our site:

I am a user of corel draw and illustrator, but I would buy affinity Designer without doubt, and there would be a version for Linux! (32bits preferred)
