Social Media Marketing Manager

Affinity apps have quickly become some of the most well respected professional creative apps available, winning multiple awards including an Apple Design Award and App of the Year, as well as thousands of 5-star customer reviews from around the world.

Due to success and continued growth, we are now looking for a Social Media Marketing Manager to join the team to manage the social media strategy, plans and activity. The ideal candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, and confident in taking ownership of the social media strategy.


  • Grow Affinity’s social media presence across various audiences, both B2C and B2B/Education, and across various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and additional channels that are relevant
  • Be the driver of Affinity’s social media by creating and implementing strategies, campaigns and posts that grow our follower base across all social channels, increase engagements and retain those followers, and convert into sales and other actions. For example, newsletter list sign-ups, event registrations, additional purchases and reviews etc
  • Enhance existing social media platforms and identify and develop new and relevant (e.g. TikTok) social media platforms to engage the B2C and B2B/Education audiences
  • Develop and deliver both organic and paid social media on an ongoing basis plus run tactical campaigns such as product launches, Affinity events (in person and virtual) and, working with the wider marketing and creative teams, support both B2C and B2B marketing awareness and lead generation
  • Work alongside Affinity in-house marketeers and content makers and external providers/agencies to help distribute content that educates and informs our audiences of Affinity apps, together with our culture and values
  • Gain insights into social media audiences, their profiles, platforms and engagements across Affinity and relevant social media groups and platforms and use this information to enhance social media and wider marketing comms activity and channels
  • Focus on driving website and sales team (B2B/Education) traffic and revenue through increased and improved engagement with new and existing B2C and B2B audiences/customers through social media (both organic and paid)
  • Work with the Marketing and Artist Relations teams to identify and develop a strategy and actionable plan for influencer collaboration and engagement to increase our reach/exposure and influenced support, reviews and endorsement of our apps
  • Collaborate with and manage relationships with external partners, influencers and agencies
  • Optimise content for engagement and lead generation across relevant social media platforms
  • Track, measure and report on the success of social media campaigns and reach through both organic and paid activity. Provide monthly summaries of stats advising on ROI for all social media activity, including sales conversions from social media and provide the strategy required to aid impact and growth

Social Media / Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-5 years in a similar role within an agency or in house marketing team
  • Proven knowledge, hands on experience and success of social media marketing is essential
  • Ability to write and follow a professional social campaign plan/content distribution plan, a posting schedule and post-campaign report/debrief
  • Experience of producing engaging copy and storytelling in line with brand standards and tone-of-voice is essential
  • Comprehensive experience in at least one and preferably multiple social media scheduling platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, Preview, Tweetdeck, Creator Studio, SproutSocial)
  • Familiarity with relationship between social and web properties in terms of analytics, tracking, goals and conversions, via e.g. Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or Google Tag Manager, plus knowledge of how meta tags and other meta elements on webpages influence social link previews and clicks/engagement
  • Basic graphic design skills (there will be support provided by the Affinity Creative Team), to manipulate images, graphics, photography etc to determine the optimal ways of displaying visual assets and content
  • Experience of answering queries and dealing with comments, DMs and shares on social media in a way that builds community, mitigates risk and nurtures a relationship
  • Knowledge of handling crisis comms/a viral moment on social media, making the most of opportunities and defusing difficult situations is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the equipment needed for effective livestreaming and sharing of short video clips on platforms such as Facebook Live & Watch, Instagram Live & Stories, Twitter Live and other emerging social networks is desirable. Help will be available from our in-house specialists in video production/photography
  • Awareness of laws and regulations surrounding online privacy and data-gathering (e.g. GDPR and PECR in Europe, cookies, privacy policies, custom audiences and anonymization, ad targeting etc) is desirable
  • Experience with social listening tools and their deployment, tracking, analysis and use/application to enhance social media and wider website, digital and marketing messaging, propositions and campaigns
