Systems Administrator

Now, due to increasing business activity, we are looking for a talented Systems Administrator to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be working with both existing infrastructure/systems, whilst developing new functionality and dealing with ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Administration, maintenance and upgrades of the corporate network, servers and telephony systems in line with corporate objectives
  • Involvement in the management of IT/Telephony systems within the company, for both hardware and software
  • Administration of the corporate firewalls and security systems
  • Development of regular networking and server maintenance procedures
  • Plan and lead projects to develop new technical platforms for IT services and manage roll out to end users
  • Adherence to all relevant Serif IT-related procedures and policies (for example, acceptable use, data protection, purchasing etc)
  • Mentor colleagues within the department in all aspects of IT support and administration
  • Author documentation as required in support of IT services (for example, procedures or end user documentation)
  • Respond to 2nd/3rd Line faults and service requests with the goal of complete problem resolution

Experience in all / most of the following

  • Microsoft Windows workstation and server
  • Apple OS X
  • Linux (especially Debian-based)
  • VMware hypervisor virtualisation
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Cisco networking
  • EMC and HP SANs
  • Shoretel Sip telephony Systems
  • Experience in producing accurate work schedules and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to gather requirements and propose, implement/rollout solutions
  • Configuring Switches/Routers
  • Configuring enterprise firewalls
  • Exposure to Cisco Equipment (Switches/Routers etc.)

Requirements

  • At least 3 years in a 2nd/3rd Line IT Support Role
