Affinity renders Illustrator files better than Adobe!

Recommended Posts

I just updated my Adobe CC apps to the new 2015 version, and opened up a file, only to see it render in what appears to be a worse, more aliased view. So then I opened it in AD to check how Affinity renders it, and it renders better than AI! Here are some screen grabs to show the difference. Pretty amazing. Great job Devs!

Nice fix Ash! You'd think enabling the GPU would yield quality results in Adobe, but I guess it comes at the expense of display quality... Not suurprised if Adobe offers  pay-to-upgrade option with a new "feature" to smooth rendering, lol...

That's the GPU acceleration (The rocket icon on the top bar) turn it off and you're golden. The speed boost with it on is a little underwhelming anyway. At least when compared to affinity.

Totally agree with your comments, why would adobe put that features there which makes things worst, and not all designer will have discreet type of gpu on our system, specially if you are a apple user like me.  And most of us designer, we are always thrilled and love to see straight away and right away the beauty of what our design should come up.  I am a designer for 10years now, and it has to be beauty and awesome in any angle or situation I am doing, even though I am working on draft, it always runs in my mind what it will be look like and it should be nice even in draft. of course not all of you will agree, its a matter of personal references. But anyway, dev of Affinity really saluted you with it.  And one thing I really love is, opening a huge file for example i am doing a company or menu catalog which size about 1-2gig of illustrator file, in AI it will takes bloody several minutes to open, and sometimes stuck in the middle of something when it tries to load those fonts, but in Affinity Designer, opening the same file of AI just merely a minutes or not even a minutes.  I dont know how AD did this but its awesome and wonderful. Feels more confident using AD. Feels you are using a high end PC or Apple. Feels breeze and fast doing work. Kudos to dev. and more power. If I am just a millionaire I will give a million dollars investment on Affinity to develop more and more software like, Affinity Codes (vs Adobe Dreamweaver) or Affinity DesignCode (vs Adobe Muse), or Affinity LitRoom (vs Adobe Lightroom) or Affinity FX ( vs Adobe After Effects) which I always on use, or Affinity Wave (vs Affinity Audition) or Affinity Crux (vs Adobe Experience Design).  Definitely I will invest.  heheh wait for my Stock and Forex Trading success then I will surely invest with Affinity.

From my experience the code in Affinity is just more modern and thus probably allowed them to do things better

unlike Adobe which has a lot of legacy stuff.

Just look at PS pen tool - face palm.

Indeed, Adobe code has many old parts.
