Staff Andy Somerfield Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 Hi bbacle, What were you doing in the app when this happened? Thanks, Andy.
bbacle
I was playing around with one of the drawings that I downloaded into it. Don't remember exactly.
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 Hi, Ok no problem - if it happens again, please be sure to submit the crash report (it will ask next time you start the app after it crashes).. The crash reports are very useful to us - we can get an idea of where / why it went wrong and try to fix it :) Thanks again for taking the time to use the beta.. Andy. bbacle
I did submit the crash report. BTW...why are the author's drawings locked and why can't I copy & paste them? If this is a protection, how can I do the same with my drawings? Thanks.
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 Hi, The authors drawings are used under license - our license does not permit reuse (apart from interactive exploration). If you would like a feature to export a "protected" version of your document, we can certainly consider this in the future - please make a post in the "Feature Requests" section and we will add it to our list. Thanks, Andy.
bbacle
Then how were they able to lock their file if this is not a feature of Affinity?
Staff MEB Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 They weren't. The files are distributed with Affinity software as samples and were locked internally by Serif. There's no user interface for this exposed in the application. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
bbacle
OK...thank you for that bit of information. I thought there was a way to do that in Affinity. Thanks again.
