Scaling clipped objects issue

Recommended Posts

Since this topic is getting feedback, I will post two bugs I caught instead of creating a new topic.

1. Scaling clipped objects

If you select multiple objects at the same time while some of those objects are clipped, resizing them will not update the stroke size of the clips.

Here is an example. Mikey.afdesign

If you resize the entire character, then the clip that makes up his hair and clip that makes up his right eye acts as if I have "Scale with object" checked off. If I do check it off, then the lines in his coat zipper and his right eyeball do not change.

2. Crash on editing throughout Affinity applications

The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!

Hi bleduc

I've moved this to it's own thread so it doesn't get lost in the beta release thread.

From what I can see it is actually working as intended. Looking at your file, you have scale with object selected on the parent object but not the individual clipped object themselves. Therefore it is only applying to the parent object and not the children is what is causing the strokes not to scale. Turning on Scale with object for the clipped objects such as the blue eye and the lines for the coat zipper will allow it to scale.

I've been trying your second point and will answer in it's associated thread

Cheers

Sorry for the delayed response. I saw that my second concern was changed into a topic, but I didn't realize my first one was as well.

I'm glad to see that it's not a bug then, but is there a faster way to select all objects along with the children objects? In the coat zipper for example, there are a lot of objects to be selected so they can be scaled accordingly. I have a list of characters with clips, and I want them all on a print-size sheet of paper, but there is a lot to edit if I shrink them down.

Hi bleduc

If the elements are all next to each other in the layers tab like the coat zipper, you can just select the top element in the layers panel and then shift select the bottom on to select all in the range. This would be the quickes one, other than than it is just a case of selecting the elements individually

Cheers
