Status: Customer Beta

Purpose: Fixes

Requirements: Purchased Affinity Photo (1.5.1)

Mac App Store: Not Submitted

Download: 1.5.2 - Beta 4

Hello everyone,

This is the latest in a series of customer beta builds intended to improve the stability of the new 1.5.1 App Store version of Affinity Photo. We'll be doing these for a few weeks, then we will update the App Store version. This beta will sit alongside the App Store version and not interfere with it - although your settings will not be shared between the two versions.

As this is a stability beta, it is suitable for production work and should be used in preference to the App Store version if you need any of the fixes it contains.

Fixes

- Numerous stability improvements and fixes.

Thanks,

Affinity Photo Team

Hi Andy and Team,

Thanks for this beta.  However, automatic lens correction for Canon mirrorless camera such as the Canon Powershot G1X is broken again.  This was fixed in 1.5.2 Beta2 but broke again in 1.5.2 Beta3 and the current beta4 as well.

I really appreciate the hard work that you and your team are putting in to make this software even more awesome.

Kind Regards,

nana

Thanks!  Slowly, but surely AP is the app I'm using for more and more non-comics things.

Mac OS X Catinlina, 2014 iMac, 3.5 Ghz Intel Core i7, Huion Kamvas Pro 22 Graphic Tablet, 16GB RAM, MacOS10.12 || Magic keyboard w/numeric keypad, wireless trackpad, Kengsington Edge Trackball || Flux Capacitor in a secure location

I encourage kids to go ahead and play on my lawn. I mean, how else can I make sure the death-traps work?

Hello,

I am writing to report there is still a problem with some of the blend modes for documents whose Color Format is set to Lab. Not all of the blend modes, but notably the 'Difference' mode does not work the same as it does when the document's Color Format is set to RGB.

If it helps, I can upload screen shots. Just about all of the other blend modes work correctly -- as far as seeing a noticeable distinction when choosing those options.

Andy, I don't know if this is a bug but I just got a new 15" MacBook Pro 512 SSD with the Touch Pad.  I have been seeing that when I am using the Brush Tool, Clone Tool, Inpainting Tool that the Touch Pad and the software are not co-ordinating with the Opacity setting.

The Touch Pad slider is setting the opacity but it is not changing on the screen.  It seems that the slider once used is setting the rules.

Flow, Brush Size, etc are all working perfectly.

Hope this is not a redundant post but would you please check this out.

Thanks for all the great work you all are doing.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am unable to run 1.5.2 beta 4.  I get the "A purchased copy of Affinity Photo must be installed to use this beta." message, and then it quits.  Version 1.5.1 is installed; I get the message whether it's running or not.   iMac (27 inch, late 2012), running OS X 10.12.3.

I have not been able to determine whether my Library Panel problem has been solved in the beta version.  This problem is copied below from the mac problems forum:

I cannot view the library panel on my iMac (27 inch, late 2012), running OS X 10.12.3.  That is in spite of downloading a fresh copy of Affinity Photo 1.5.1 from the App Store and following your Reset instructions posted 10 December 2016.  There is a View-> Studio -> Library entry, but checking/unchecking that entry has no effect.  Re-starting Affinity Photo did not help.

In contrast, I can view the library panel (and install the macro pack) on my MacBook Air (13 inch, mid 2011), also running OS X 10.12.3.
