artphotopro
Hello, I have had a look through the forum and did not find a topic about this or I may of missed it. I have a HP Spectre x360 and would like too know how to set up affinity designer for use in tablet mode as the keyboard when in tablet mode is on the underside of the screen so things link holding ctrl or shift are a problem, is their a way of setting up on screen keys without opening the onscreen keyboard as this blocks a large section of the screen making it unusable. Thank you for any help and suggestions. Regards Chris
School of Languages LCT
Wow, no one can help with this since 2017?!? I'm the LCT Manager for a school trying to help teachers use Designer instead of 'the subscription PDF editor', because Designer lets them do more graphically and I like it's pricing model, ease of use and depth of features. Also, teachers love my hard copy manuals, and if I can get this working, I'll purchase a set for the library so I can have mine back. We have a lot of HP x360 gear ( Envys and Elitebooks ) with HP pens, and I love the tablet mode drawing features, but simple things like deleting a selected item in Designer seem tricky without the keyboard. I haven't used the Affinity apps on iPad, but I assume this is not a problem there, so am I missing something? Is there a way of enabling tablet functions on my desktop apps ( on my tablet-book )? Cheers.
Komatös
Hi @School of Languages LCT I don't know the pen structure. It may be possible to assign a keyboard shortcut to a key on the pen, if available. There is nothing to help with - as it was already said here on the forum, tablet mode is not supported on PC, and its introduction is not expected yet. https://www.google.com/search?q=tablet+mode+site:forum.affinity.serif.com Quote Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.4.0.2301 Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 23H2, Build 22631.3155. The Affinity apps on the iPad are very different from the apps on a desktop or laptop machine, which you are using. I would not try to use the desktop/laptop apps without a keyboard, but may operations are certainly possible using the Menu, e.g., Edit > Delete, to delete a selected item. Some functions require the keyboard, though.
