WIBNI: Luminosity selection brush

Wouldn't it be nice if (WIBNI) there was a luminosity selection brush.

 

So I could just grab the brush and paint a selection based on a chosen luminosity/colour range.

 

Something more controllable than Select/Tonal Range, more flexible than Select Sampled Colour, and easier than duplicate layer then Blend Ranges within a selection.

 

eg. A new selection brush. Colours dropdown (Master, RGB, CMYK, LAB, etc.). Maybe colour picker? Value slider. Tolerance slider.

 

Or some other way, but do keep it simple. The easier it is, the more people will use/value it.

Could the Tony Kuyper Luminosity Masking plug in for Photoshop work with Affinity as a plug in?

 

 TK actions v4 The older version is here: http://goodlight.us/writing/actionspanelv4/panelv4.html  This makes it so much easier to do the luminosity masking

The new version is TKV5

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

No, it will not work with Affinity Photo since it doesn't support Photoshop actions or any kind of automation in plugins.

Thank you for the quick response.  I get a bit more control with TK over most of the options I have tried.  I will try the Silver Efex trick to see if it will provide me the result I am looking for.
