Hokusai
TangoPapaMike, Are you using Mac or Windows? If you are using Mac then Option + G will do it. I'm not sure on Windows but I'm sure someone here can tell you. Hokusai
Staff MEB Posted April 3, 2017 Staff Share Posted April 3, 2017 Hi TangoPapaMike, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) On Windows press and hold the Alt key down and type 0169. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
jer
Hi TangoPapaMike, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) On Windows press and hold the Alt key down and type 0169. MEB, this works only if you have a numeric keypad on the keyboard and type the 0169 from that keypad. It does not work using the number keys that run across the top of the keyboard. Using the numeric keypad, if it doesn't work, you probably need to press the numlock key to get the keypad in the numeric mode. Bizarre, I know. Using a keyboard without a keypad it is necessary to do a Start > Run > charmap This brings up the Windows character symbols tables and you can locate the desired symbols and copy them to the clipboard. In Win 10, just type charmap in the Start box and Win 10 will offer it to you in the resulting search list. BabelMap is a better option than CharMap if you do a lot of this kind of thing, but my preferred method is to use TypeIt. For occasional use, CopyPasteCharacter works quite well. v_kyr
Well, alternatively you can also use the Win on-screen keyboard here (accessable from the task bar) too ... ... which contains all those chars too. Further, with that one you can type it also in as (alt + 0169) since it offers (can emulate) a number pad. Or you can type it even in as Unicode 00A9 char etc. However, when in trouble or the used font doesn't contain that char, just use the good old plain Copyright ... (c) ... way here! momochan86
I dunno if this will work but on DrawPlus I had to type in © and it automatically converted to the actual copyright symbol. Took me forever to figure that out. I'm on Windows10 btw.
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, momochan86. :) I dunno if this will work but on DrawPlus I had to type in (c) and it automatically converted to the actual copyright symbol. Took me forever to figure that out. I'm on Windows10 btw. DrawPlus has an auto-correct feature (which you can customize via 'Tools > Options... > Auto-Correct > Replacements'). Replacement of (c) with ©, (r) with ® and (tm) with ™ happens by default, just as it does on these forums. I wouldn't be at all surprised if auto-correct is added to the Affinity suite when Affinity Publisher finally makes its appearance.
