martin3walker
I'm trying to create a colored overlay for a photo that fades to transparency. I want part of the photo to be darker so text shows up on it better, but I don't want a hard line between the dark and light part. I tried applying a linear gradient to a colored rectangle that was set over the entire photo, and then rasterizing it to mask. That makes the whole photo transparent. How do I just make part of the Rectangle itself become transparent? Thanks!
Staff MEB Posted April 21, 2017 Staff Share Posted April 21, 2017 Hi martin3walker, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You don't have to convert the rectangle to a mask. In your case you just need select the colour stop of the gradient you want to make transparent on canvas (on the gradient handle) then go to the Colour panel and set its opacity to 0%.
