aressess
Been using Serif DrawPlus X2 for many years. Just downloaded some .eps images and cannot use them. Will upgrading to Affinity solve my problem?
v_kyr
Hi and welcome, well since you didn't expressed concretely where your problem relies in, it's hard to tell. - But you can give Affinity Designer a try by downloading a Win try out version and see for yourself if it might solve your EPS image problems! thomas.haslwanter
I have the same problem. Some EPS files are imported correctly. Others are not. Attached a screenshot ("eps_files.png", generated from Adobe Illustrator) with 3 EPS-images: one generated from Affinity, one from Python, and one from MATLAB. The first two (from Affinity and from a Python application) are imported correctly. The last one isn't (see "eps_from_matlab.png", which shows the Affinity import). I also attach the MATLAB-file that does not work. Is this a user error? Or is it a problem with Affinity? Thanks for any kind of feedback thomas from_Matlab.eps
R C-R
Hi thomas.haslwanter & welcome to the forums! :) When I import your from_Matlab.eps file into Affinity Designer 1.5.5 on my Mac, I get this: Aside from importing every number & graph element as a separate curve (so there are 97 individual objects) it looks OK to me. Gagey
Hi I have an EPS import problem in Affinity. The file I am trying to import is construction.eps Should look like this: But infact only imports this in Affinity: i.e. I'm missing a whole load of vectors. Any ideas anyone? Many thanks Chris
Staff DWright Posted August 17, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2017 Hi Chris, What program created your eps file as when the drawing is re-saved as a standard AI eps file it opens correctly in Designer.
Gagey
Hi there - thanks for the response. I don't know the programme used to create the file I'm afraid - its a download. Are you able to send me the version that you fixed please? Thanks Chris
Fixx
AD just cannot open that file right. Probably some elements in EPS that are not supported in import. Here is a PDF generated by Illustrator which should open right in AD: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/bmzonu4m1v11c6h/construction [Converted].pdf
