Gear maker
I'm not sure if this is a bug or if there is a reason I haven't thought of. In the new light UI all the visibility check boxes flash blue whenever a new layer is selected. But when I change the visibility of one layer all the rest stay blue. Flash.mov The light UI is so much easier to tell which icons are on or off. Thank you. But it's sure going to take a little while to get used to the change in looks. iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
Staff MEB Posted May 24, 2017 Staff Share Posted May 24, 2017 Hi Gear Maker, No, this shouldn't happen. I'm having trouble replicating this here. Does it also happens with other documents or it's specific to that one? A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
Gear maker
Hi Miguel, it's doing it on all drawings for me. I just created a new one with just 2 shapes. It's doing the same. I tried 4 drawings created from 1.5 and before, same action. Staff MEB Posted May 25, 2017 Staff Share Posted May 25, 2017 I believe this may be due to a conflict with previous beta settings/files. Can you please press and hold ⌃(ctrl) while launching the application then press Clear to reset it? It shouldn't happen again after the reset. If it still happen let us know. Gear maker
Miguel, I did a reset with just the defaults, no change to the problem. I did a reset with all selected, no change also. Did some experimenting. In non-Separated Mode I do not have the issue. Only in Separated with the light UI. So far I haven't found anything else that affects it. iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
Gear maker
Miguel, even with 4 updates to AD, a few resets and an upgraded OS I still am getting this flash of the blue visibility check marks. You had said to let you know if it continues. Am I the only one seeing this issue? Have you been able to reproduce the issue? It sounded like this wasn't something you had seen before. Any cure known? Mike iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
Staff MEB Posted August 7, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 7, 2017 Hi Gear maker, No, i haven't seen this before nor i'm able to replicate it on my systems (running Sierra). Since the reset didn't fix the issue i'm starting to believe this is something specific to Yosemite (OSX 10.10). It would be nice if someone else could check/confirm this issue as i don't have any system running Yosemite here. Does this also happen with the dark interface? A_B_C
I suppose you could not see this, Miguel, for you are not working in Separated Mode. It happens to me in Separated Mode on Sierra as well … try it, and you will see … Separated-Flash.mov
Staff MEB Posted August 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted August 8, 2017 That's it. Thank you @Gear maker and @A_B_C. Issue logged to be looked at. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
A_B_C
It looks like a Window Focus problem. Checkboxes are usually greyed out on macOS, when a window looses focus. So it seems that clicking an entry in the layers list brings back focus to the Layers panel in Separated Mode, and this focus gets immediately lost again. Hmm … Oval
