Usually when doing a copy/paste of a shape if the screen is not showing the original shape's position then the new copy is placed somewhere in the existing screen view, the exact location depends on other criteria. When changing a dynamic geometric operation (I happen to be doing a subtract) if one of the shapes is copy/pasted and the screen is not showing the location of the original shape sometimes the copy is placed in the same spot as the original and sometimes it is far away.
