As a vector gradient let along the curve. Question in the photo.

Recommended Posts

How to draw a curve in the vector AP or AD and bend a gradient along it. I apologize for the English. To make it more clear, I found a picture on the stock, an example. At me the gradient turns out flat and direct, even if it to start up on a curve.

Hi m850,

To my knowledge it is not possible to apply a gradient perpendicularly to a line.

As a workaround, you can draw a thick stroke, put it in a color. Then copy this stroke and paste it on itself. Then change the color of the copy and reduce its thickness.

Then apply a "Gaussian Blur" effect to the copy until you get the desired effect.

The effect obtained is not really a gradient but may perhaps be useful in some cases.

Also of limited use, try either the 3-d fx or the emboss fx. In my image, the rounded edges the effect gives have been cropped by overlaid rectangles.

You can also draw a rectangle to which you apply the gradient you want.

You then transform this rectangle into a brush that you can use on a line.

I understand that your advice is only for AD, in the AP so do not?

Thanks for the advice. My trial period AD ended before I had time to start the program to get acquainted with it, now I'm studying only on YouTube videos, I'm thinking whether I need this tool or not. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! Then no one was, then several! :)

Hi m850,

Thanks for the feedback. :)

After my first response I thought about the problem and tried it with the brush made from the rectangle, I hope the method can suit you (in AD).

Actually, having no AP, I only use AD and I can not tell if the method works with AP, I'm sorry. :(

Cheers.
