R C-R
In the Customer Beta (1.6 - Beta 1) topic, MattP says that files created in Affinity 1.6 may not open in 1.5. I have done a little testing with some simple edits on existing v1.5 documents, saved them in v1.6 (using save as to avoid overwriting the original), & they open without problems in AD 1.5. So from this I assume that some edits are safe to use in 1.6 without making the files un-openable in v1.5, but others are not. Is there a list anywhere of the edits that do or don't preserve compatibility? Dave Harris
Anything with text won't open. A document created from the current 1.6 beta without text will open in 1.5, but will crash if you try to create a text frame. The next beta should fix that crash, but until then it's best not to risk it. predick
R C-R
Thanks for the info, particularly about crashing 1.5. I won't try that; i was just curious about the changes in the file format going forward.
