Panorama creation

Recommended Posts

Hi,

In the beta, I’m having the same issue(s) with panorama stitching as with the initial public release:

  1. After adding images (anywhere from 2 to 5, from Photos), whether individual images are toggled on or off, the Stitch button remains greyed-out…
  2. Tapping Ok results in the app crashing back to the Springboard (100% of the times I tried; maybe a dozen times?)

(Apologies if I’m not using precise names for buttons (not at my iPad Pro at the moment, relying on memory.) Is there something I’m missing here?

By the way — this app was an instabuy because of how good the macOS app is — and was a clear highlight of the WWDC keynote last week. Well done bringing this to iOS (hope you can bring Designer over, too)!

Hi Chris,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Thanks for your words and support.

I've been able to reproduce this here. Issue logged this to be looked at.

Here's a workaround to make it work while we fix this: after adding you images from Photos, add another one from a cloud service. Enable the images you have imported from Photos and remove the last one you added from the cloud service. Press the Stitch button then OK. It should work.

Yes, Affinity Designer will also be available for iPad/iOS.

I had exactly the same problem. I followed you advice above and I found that it is order specific. If I loaded from the cloud first and then from my photos on my iPad, nothing. But if I loaded the files from the iPad followed by the cloud then that worked. Another suggestion...it is a real PIA to have to keep going back to the iPad files to find what I wanted to merge together to form a panorama. It would be so much better to have the program work just like AirDrop, where you can click on a number of files and then have it take action to load all of them in one move.

Going back and forth for lots of files to merge gets very tiring. If I need to provide more input on what I am talking about let me know...I could get some screen shots together for you if that would help.
