Affinity adds support for 50 new cameras and 32-bit HDR

Award-winning photo editing software Affinity Photo now supports over 50 more cameras and a key new HDR standard following the latest free update.
Affinity 2.4 is out now

Affinity developer Serif has today rolled out version 2.4 of its creative suite–Affinity Photo, vector graphic design software Affinity Designer and page layout software Affinity Publisher–for Mac, Windows PC and iPad.

Models from Sony, Panasonic and Nikon are among the new additions to the list of supported hardware, including:

  • Panasonic–G9 mk2, GH6
  • Sony–A7C 2, A7CR, A7R V, A9 III
  • Nikon–Z8, Z30, Zf

Photographers using RAW will also notice a best-ever performance from the SerifLabs RAW processing engine, as well as a host of other time-saving tweaks and additions.

And in a world-first, the addition of 32-bit HDR PNG 3rd Edition to existing True HDR support for Mac and Windows, means Affinity Photo meets all the key requirements for high dynamic range on-screen graphics – a measure implemented following consultation with leading sports broadcasters in North America. It also enables users to export images for HDR display in Google Chrome, with other browsers expected to follow.

There’s also good news for architects and other designers, as Affinity Designer now supports both DWG and DXF export. This means outlines created in Affinity can now be easily exported for use in various CAD applications, making it easier than ever to incorporate Affinity into a professional workflow.

And the States Panel is an exciting addition to Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher. It’s particularly useful for managing different variations of a project or campaign because it eliminates the time-consuming need to toggle layer visibility individually when switching between artboards in Designer or spreads in Publisher.

High dynamic range support for sports graphics in Affinity Photo 2.4

Serif CEO Ashley Hewson says: “These updates underline our commitment to making Affinity the optimal choice for professionals. As well as adding support for the latest cameras, we’ve worked with a leading global broadcaster to meet industry requirements for producing high dynamic range graphics, making Affinity the first design software package to deliver that capability.

“And the addition of DWG and DXF export is in response to the growing number of architecture practices around the world who are putting their faith in Affinity.”

Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher are available now as individual purchases or all together under the Affinity Universal Licence. There’s no ongoing subscription. For more information go to

About Serif

Serif launched in 1987 and built up a reputation for quality and reliability based on an award-winning range of software for PC – low-cost alternatives to high-end publishing and graphics packages.

The focus of development then switched to a next-generation suite of lean, super-fast apps for creative professionals using Mac, Windows and iPad. Affinity Designer, the first Affinity app, was released in 2014. Affinity Photo followed in 2015 and the launch of Affinity Publisher in 2019 meant Serif boasted a full creative suite of applications covering photo editing, graphic design and desktop publishing.

Affinity Version 2, launched in November 2022, represents a complete reimagining of the Affinity suite with new features and enhancements, plus a redesigned UI, for a fluid and powerful working experience. The launch at the same time of Affinity Publisher 2 for iPad means the entire Affinity suite is integrated across Mac, PC and iPad.

Affinity products have won some of the biggest awards in the industry, gained plaudits from reviewers, and been adopted by millions of users worldwide.

Serif employs around 90 people at its HQ in Nottingham, UK.
