Transition from an older version of Adobe InDesign to Affinity Publisher was much easier than anticipated! So many shortcuts and functions are identical to indesign, that learning curve is not too steep.

I use QuarkXpress for most of the publications and Birthday cards etc. I am a graphic designer long retired. I taught Desktop Publishing at Algonquin College for ten years. I haven’t learned how to do text flow on Publisher yet but when I do I would like to try it on some of my projects. I haven’t used Designer much since I use Corel Draw. WhenI feel like it I will give them all a try.It would be nice if I could convert quark files to Publisher files. Any tips? I would have liked to come across your programs fifteen or twenty years ago. Keep on developing the programs so they would be better on professional projects. Keep up your good work.

Affinity Photo
A really good photo editing software with a not too steep learning curve for novices like myself and also plenty of instruction from other users on the net, I am having some really great results editing my own photos, I would highly recommend it for beginners and also more experienced photographers, you will not be disappointed.

I'm happy with what I've found so far.
Affinity Designer
So far it has font everything adobe illustrator did for me but without the pricey subscription! Happy with my purchase.
Affinity Publisher
What a great product! Having spent many years attempting to get to drips with InDesign, I picked up Affinity in an afternoon! Very intuitive, everything makes sense and it’s a joy to use. Love it!

Transitioning to the Affinity Suite has been the thing software decision I've ever made! I come from years of having to use adobe because i didn't have any competitors that I felt matched the features the adobe software has. But this year I started searching for options due to the aggressive subscription + charge for leaving the subscription. So while searching for viable options I found V2 of the Affinity Suite, and I got to say, this is it! The Affinity Suite is packed of features that have nothing to envy to Adobe. The programs are solid, feature packed, and very professional. I use the Affinity Suite for my professional work. There's certainly a learning curve when coming from adobe to Affinity. It's not 1 to 1 obviously, but it just took me like a week to get up to my usual speed. The learning curve isn't that high. There are a few tools that Affinity has that I'd wish worked a bit differently, but, it no way are they a game-breaker for me. Love Affinity

I've been using Affinity for 8 years now, I did it to leave Adobe and I can not be happier. I'm a Professional Photographer and Videographer based in Panama so, not 100% but 101% RECOMMENDED

Love Affinity Photo and Designer V2! Only thing I miss from Photo V2 is generative fill, otherwise it's a 10/10 purchase!!🥰

I'm still learning the software, and it's a change from Adobe, but it's not hard to use, and it does what I need it to do.

I haven't figured out all the changes yet, and have a new MacBook Pro instead of PC. It seems to work a little differently. The new brush (I forget what it's called) for removing stuff works really well, even for lines, power cables, etc. I'm impressed. I need to go shoot some test photos to experiment with it some. I did have the old version on my HP laptop, but I've had a problem with malware coming past Bitdefender that attacked my photo software. It finally corrupted all photo apps. I cured that by buying a Mac & installing Malwarebytes. For what I need Affinity works as well or better than Photoshop, and there's no monthly fee.

Affinity Publisher
Affinity Publisher has great potential, but it is currently held back by frustrating shortcomings. The app already crashed several times on my Mac, which is something that rarely happens with professional software on macOS these days. That alone raises concerns about stability. More importantly, the missing functionality shows up in places where you would expect basics to be covered. For example, it is not possible to display the number of chapters across multiple sections unless you manually combine everything into a single section, which defeats the purpose of organizing complex documents properly. What makes it worse is that many of these limitations only become apparent while you are working on a real document. There are no clear warnings or interface cues that something will not work the way you expect. As a result, I spend time building something, only to discover a limitation mid-process, and then I face the same issue again with the next document. I want to love this software because it is fast, beautifully designed, and offers a refreshingly affordable pricing model. However, if Serif does not prioritize fixing these usability issues and stability problems, I fear it will lose many serious users who want to trust this tool for professional work. To the Serif team: Please take these concerns seriously. The product deserves to succeed, but that will only happen if you focus more on stability, core functionality, and user feedback in future updates.
